The redesign of Rizyu reference. I am very happy in how his front and back views came out. I am still working on a reference layout for this really *as in where the extra items will be at as well as the color key for him* Will be high detail cell shading. Mainly because I am going to change his fur coat as well. Mainly because he will not have a dark grey color fur as well on his main body. Mainly around his arms back and legs where the scales appear on him. Next thing to be colored for portfoilo.

Next reference to be done is Oni Yoko

I really really really really etc, LOVE his redesign, Riz. It's fantastic, no joke. Seems like whenever you're "forced" to redesign your characters for one reason or another, they always end up looking far better than they did before. I think Rizyu's having only one wing makes him seem like a deeper, more weathered character. He seems a lot tougher than he previously did. I'm sure once you add color to this later that'll be even more obvious. I really like his new facial design (more like his head I guess), the horns make him look really cool. I also love the feathering around the joint of his wing to the body, and how you still had feathering on the other side where there is no wing. It looks coo'. :3 I also like the designs on his sleeves, and on his coat (?), adds more detail, and makes him more engaging. Or rather... makes the viewer want to engage more into the picture. x3 I guess you liked the clasps from Bevan's belt design, seeing how you did something similar here. I like how you made one of them have a ram head, it looks pretty cool. So far I'd say this is the best he's ever looked. Before he wasn't really a character I'd consider your best. I always had thought Allucen and Ewan were your best characters. But, they have major competition now. lol. XD Rizyu's freakin' sweet now. Keep up the great work Riz.

Rizyu actuly still has two wings still. Just now he is abel to pull them back into him. And I did only one because he covered half of the page all on his own anyway and I wanted to keep the lineart to one page so I can put it in a portfolio nicelly. After seeing the ones you did I went searching on googel for Azteh designs and I saw a few like that had birds on them. Ram head huh. Tried to make it dragon but Ram is fine >^^< And the feathers came actuly from Oni Yoko's design. He is being redone Raligard now as well and that is what I pulled from him to the rest of the race now *as well as horns 24/7*

I see. lol, sorry I called it a ram, it looked that way at first. x3 As for his wings design, I think that's pretty cool. I was thinking about doing something like that for Sachiel after seeing Underworld Evolution. That movie had really awesome character designs... But yeah anyhow. Keep up the great work hun. :3

I have yet to see that. >_< I have the first movie. But now that I look at the charm/bead it works nicely as a ram. >^^<

I really like his hair. He seems almost chibi though…Im not sure why. Maybe a better word to use would be short…very short, lol.

Rizyu is not short. He is 5ft 11in tall like me. X3

I think the only reason most of your characters look a bit short is because of how you proportion your characters... the head is usually larger than a real human. Usually they're about 5 heads tall when in reality, to be that tall he'd need to be proportioned more like a person, about 7.5 heads tall. When I saw Ewan's city ref, it suprised me he'd be taller than my character Bevan, who is only 5'8" (Ewan being 5'11"). If I put the two characters next to one another, Bevan would be proportioned correctly for his height, where Ewan wouldn't be, because his head and general proportions would look too big, if that makes sense. I'm not saying all this to upset you or anything, I'm just trying to explain why your characters appear short to most people. I dunno if this helps at all. I guess if you would like to improve your anatomy, you could try taking my advice. Start drawing people from life or even photos, you'll get your anatomy down really well that way. That's how I got better at drawing males and such. Just from observing real life.

I have learned that drawing from other peoples' artwork in order to learn anatomy doesn't really help you any because their style is usually quite different from how things actually look. My stuff's not real life looking either, my figures tend to have really long legs in comparison to real people. And my males usually have very small hips, while having considerably large shoulders.

But anyway. Just thought I'd add in my two cents. If it offends you, just ignore me.
